GVSU's Futter and Graber receive cross country weekly honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following week seven of the 2022 cross country season. Grand Valley State athletes received both honors, with senior Caleb Futter earning GLIAC Men's Athlete of the Week and sophomore Natalie Graber receiving GLIAC Women's Athlete of the Week recognition. 


MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Caleb Futter, Grand Valley State

Caleb Futter led the Lakers to a third place finish this weekend at the Bradley Pink Classic in the Red Division with a total of 96 points, placing behind two DI programs; Wichita State (84) and Loyola (82). Futter was the first Laker to finish the men's 8k, placing fifth and recording a personal-best time of 23:39.4. This will be Caleb Futter's first career GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors.


WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Natalie Graber, Grand Valley State

Natalie Graber now earns her third GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors after placing eighth in the Red Division at the Bradley Pink Classic with a personal-best 6k time of 20:27.6. Grand Valley State finished with five runners in the Top 50, placing fourth overall with a total score of 122 points, falling shortly behind three DI programs; Bradley (106), Illinois (83), and Northwestern (68).
