Coach: Jim Wiedie is entering his second season as the head coach of the Oilers

Overview: The Oilers had a tougher season than expected a year after playing in the NCAA tournament,  but they are hoping to bounce back in a big way. Junior forward Margaret Wuebker will play a key role after leading the team in scoring at 12.7 ppg last season. She also grabbed a team-best 5.6 rebounds per game and blocked 20 shots. Outside shooting threats Ciara Keiger and Karli Bonar are also back. Geiger, a senior guard, averaged 10.2 ppg and made 35 treys while Bonar, a sophomore guard, knocked down a team-leading 60 3-pointers. Senior forward Lacey Kessler, senior point guard Kristin Klausing  and senior guard Nikki Gunning also have experience and will be counted on to step up if UF is going to have a winning season. Kessler averaged 8.0 points per outing and tallied 37 steals The Oilers have added a cast of talented freshmen as well, including Haley Horstman, an all-state player who was the MVP of Ohio’s North/South All-Star Game.

Noteworthy: The Oilers were competitive despite a losing record, dropping 11 games by nine points or less.

The Oilers finished last season with a 12-14 record and will return nine letter winners to the team this year. The squad will be led by junior forward Margaret Wuebker, who earned second team all-league accolades in 2013-14 by averaging 12.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

Senior guard Ciara Geiger (10.2 ppg), sophomore guard Karli Bonar (8.4 ppg), senior forward Lacey Kessler (8.0 ppg) and senior guard Nikki Gunning (8.0 ppg) also return as the Oilers welcome back their top five scorers from last year.
