Coach: Jeff Curtis enters his 11th season as the head coach of the Timberwolves

Overview: Considering what the Timberwolves have back, they could very well be one of the most improved teams in the conference. Gabrielle Rivette, a first-team All-GLIAC selection, headlines the list of key returning players.  Rivette averaged 15.1 points per outing and dished out 3.4 assists per game last year. Second-team All-GLIAC pick Lauren Robak also returns. She averaged 15.9 ppg. Defensively, the Timberwolves will be fine as well as Sarah Susan and Kaitlin Susan both earned spots on league’s all-defensive team. The two combined for 76 steals, including 46 by Kaitlin. Sarah averaged 13.6 ppg and Kaitlin led the team in rebounding, grabbing 9.2 per game. Guards Maddy Seeley and Ashley Campbell, along with center Taylor Cramer, are newcomers who will add depth to an experience team.

Noteworthy: NU returns its top 12 scorers from last season, including five players who averaged eight or more points per outing.

Northwood Sports Information Preview

Expectations are extremely high for the 2014-15 Northwood Women’s Basketball team. The Timberwolves return their top 12 scorers from last year’s team which won 15 games and reached the GLIAC Tournament. NU also added a talented group of freshmen to an already deep team.

Leading the way for Northwood will senior point guard Gabrielle Rivette, who earned First Team All-GLIAC honors last season after averaging 15.1 points and 3.4 assists per game. Junior shooting guard Lauren Robak was Second Team All-GLIAC last year after leading the team in scoring (15.9 ppg).  Sarah Susan (13.6 ppg) and Kaitlin Susan (9.2 rpg) each earned GLIAC All-Defensive Team honors a year ago.  A large group of veterans also will return for the Timberwolves, including seniors Aleigha Wylie and Jade Ledy, juniors Taylor Roe and Sarah Trierweiler, sophomores Emily Kutch, Jordyn Nurenberg, Delaney Kenny and Sami Stormont. Freshmen Maddy Seeley, Ashley Campbell and Taylor Cramer have also performed well early in camp.
