#5 GLIAC SOUTH
OHIO DOMINICAN (12-14 ALL, 9-13 GLIAC)

2014-15 Ohio Dominican Preview (by Brian Lester, GLIAC contributor)

Coach: Lynsey Warren is entering her third season as the head coach of the Panthers

Overview: Ohio Dominican was competitive a year ago despite not having a winning record. In fact, in its last six games, only one was decided by double digits. The Panthers ended the year with two straight wins and should be able to carry that momentum into this season. Leading the way will be senior guard Kacee Hockenberry, who was the team’s top scorer a year ago, averaging 15.7 ppg. Junior forward Melissa Scherpenberg will also play a key role after averaging 10.6 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Madi Rittinger and sophomore guard Lauren Bates also return. Rittinger is coming off a year where she averaged 7.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Bates averaged 6.7 ppg and pulled down 5.3 rebounds per outing. The Panthers seem poised to be much better offensively after averaging 63.3 ppg last year and if they can win some of the close games they lost last year, they will one of the more improved teams in the league.

Noteworthy: Hockenberry shot 43.6 percent from the field and ranked 10th in the league in scoring average last season.
