HOUGHTON, Mich. - No. 10-ranked Michigan Tech shook off a slow start to score a season-high 85 points in an 85-66 win over Northwood tonight in GLIAC women's basketball at the SDC Gym. The Huskies shot 58 percent from the field and made 10 3-pointers in improving to 15-2 overall and 10-1 in the conference. The Timberwolves fell to 8-9 overall and 4-6 in the league.

Northwood opened the game with a hot hand. Two straight 3-pointers from Sarah Spring lifted the Timberwolves to a 28-20 advantage. Tech swung the momentum in its favor from there. Tech opened the second half by hitting two more 3-pointers in the first three minutes completing a 19-6 run spanning the intermission. The hosts maintained control the game until the final horn as the margin grew to as many as 26 in the final 20 minutes.

"I'm thrilled with this win," said head coach Kim Cameron. "Northwood is a well-coached, tough team. I'm proud of the way we battled, and Lindsey (Lindstrom)did an awesome job on (Northwood forward) Pam Wilson."
