Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer team rode a pair of goals by senior Isabella Zamborini along with a stifling defensive performance to a 2-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) victory over the Wisconsin Parkside Rangers at the Bulldog Soccer Field on Senior Day on Sunday (Sept. 25).

Ferris State's victory was its third-straight, coupled with a third consecutive shutout which runs the shutout streak to 299:06 minutes. In that time, the Bulldogs have only allowed seven shots on goal.

The Bulldogs jumped in front when Zamborini opened the scoring at 38:49 of the first half. Sophomore Lindsay Cole went for a corner kick before the Rangers could get set and moved the ball to Zamborini quickly only a few feet out of the corner. Zamborini wrapped around a Ranger defender and ripped off a shot for the top left corner for her third goal of the year. Cole picked up her first helper of the year on the play.

Early in the second half, the Bulldogs truck again when freshman Ella Wolf sprang Zamborini on a long run from midfield. Zamborini cut back and lost her defender before firing a shot inside the right goal post for her fourth goal of the season and second of the afternoon. Wolf earned her second assist of the campaign on the goal.

In a strong senior day outing, Zamborini fired seven shots with three on frame. Senior Nikki May also fired two on goal to go with six attempts for the Bulldogs.

Ferris State dominated possesion with a 25-7 advantage in shots, including an 11-1 shots on goal lead, and an 8-1 margin for in corner tries. A physical match, the two teams were whistled for 35 combined fouls and two yellow cards.

In goal, Ferris State sophomore goalkeeper Darya Mosallaei saw just one shot on goal, but fought off a pair of crosses to stifle other chances for the Bulldogs. The shutout is the 15th of her career, good for third most in school history and one away from tying second all-time (Grace Kraft).

Ferrris State has two more contests remaining in a four-game home stand with the Bulldogs next drawing Saginaw Valley State on Friday (Sept. 30) at 1 p.m. (ET) at the Bulldog Soccer Field in GLIAC play.
