Bulldog Volleyball Falls In Five-Set Encounter To Michigan Tech

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad jumped out to an early lead, but could not hold on as the Bulldogs fell to visiting Michigan Tech 3-2 on Friday (Nov. 10) evening inside Bulldog Arena.

FSU won the opening two frames by scores of 25-15 and 25-23, but the Huskies rallied for a 25-22 win in the third and a 26-24 decision in the fourth to setup the deciding set. The Bulldogs trailed early in the fifth, but fought back to knot it back up before falling 15-12.

Junior Olivia Henneman-Dallape led the Bulldogs with a match-high 26 kills while Syann Fairfield added 10 kills and Claire Nowicki chipped in nine kills. Kaylee Maat had 45 assists for FSU and notched 14 digs.

The Bulldogs also got 16 digs from Leah Bylut and 14 by Nowicki.

Ferris State hit .211 overall for the match and finished with 60 kills and 24 attack errors on 171 attempts. FSU also netted 77 digs to go with 14 block assists, six service aces and five solo blocks.

Michigan Tech finished the night with 64 kills on 188 attempts with 29 attack errors, notching a .186 hitting figure. The Huskies compiled 77 digs and garnered 10 block assists, three aces and two solo blocks.

MTU was led by Meg Raabe with a team-high 15 kills. Tess Hayes had 51 assists and Amelia Albers notched 16 digs.

The Bulldogs fell to 21-7 overall this year with the setback and 14-3 in the GLIAC.

Ferris State will host Northern Michigan on Saturday (Nov. 11) in the regular-season finale starting at 5 p.m. (ET) inside Bulldog Arena.
