Bulldogs Fall in Tightly Contested Match at GVSU

Grandville, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team fell 4-3 in a hotly contested Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match at Grand Valley State at the Premier Athletic & Tennis Club on Sunday (March 31).

Ferris State had Grand Valley State on the ropes early as they won the no. 1 and no. 2 doubles flights, as the top pairing of seniors Steward Sell and Nur Ramdani Iswan defeated GVSU's DJ Colantone and Sebastien Lescoulie 6-2, followed by a win by FSU juniors Mathis Guerre and Pablo Munoz Baroja over GVSU's Jack Geissler and Martin Matov.

Iswan again won in singles, 6-2, 6-2 over GVSU's Geissler at no. 2 singles, while Baroja dispatched Grand Valley's Jack Dausman 7-5, 6-4 in the no. 3 singles, but the Bulldogs succumbed at the no. 1, 4, 5, 6 singles and no. 3 doubles to fall to 5-9 on the season and 3-1 in GLIAC play.

Ferris State returns home Saturday (April 6) to take on the Ashland Eagles at the FSU Racquet Center for a 10:00 am EST first serve in GLIAC competition.
