Bulldogs Fall To Northwood At Home

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally #10 ranked Ferris State University women's soccer team had three chances in the final 70 seconds, but could not force overtime and fell 1-0 to the Northwood Timberwolves on Friday (Oct. 29) at the Bulldog Soccer Field in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

While the Bulldogs had a 20-5 advantage in shots on the day, including the three in the final minute of play, the Timberwolves took the lead at 22:34 when Juliana Paoletti scored for what became the 1-0 final.

The Bulldogs also came up with a 12-3 advantage in shots on goal for the day. Senior Pia Nagel had five shots to lead all Bulldogs, followed by senior Grace VerHage's four.

Ferris State also tried six corners and held Northwood to just two attempts on the day.

In goal, Ferris State freshman keeper Darya Mosallaei made two stops for the Bulldogs while Andrea Everett made 12 for the shutout victory for Northwood.

Prior to the contest, the Bulldogs had not dropped consecutive games dating back five years (2016).

Ferris State looks to get back in the win column nezt Friday (Nov. 5) when the Bulldogs travel to Caledonia to take on the Davenport Panthers at 4 p.m. (ET) in GLIAC play in their second to last game of the regular season.
