Ferris State Suffers Road Setback In Final Game Of Upper Peninsula Trip

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad suffered a 67-52 setback at Michigan Tech on Sunday (Dec. 11) as the Bulldogs wrapped up their weekend trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

The Huskies held a slim two-point lead after the opening quarter and owned only a five-point halftime edge before outscoring FSU 20-8 in the third period. FSU did produce 13 points in the fourth quarter to 11 for MTU, but it wasn't enough to reclaim the advantage.

The Bulldogs were limited to 24.3% shooting for the game and went only three-of-28 (10.7%) from long range. Ferris State did convert 15-of-22 (68.2%) free throws.

Senior forward Chloe Idoni led the Bulldogs with 18 points and 13 rebounds in a double-double performance while freshman Mia Riley added 13 points off the bench and Kenzie Bowers chipped in 10 points.

Ferris State had only seven turnovers in the setback and came up with 48 rebounds, including 16 offensive caroms in the decision.

However, Michigan Tech shot 41.9% overall and made 14-of-27 (51.9%) three's in owning a big advantage from the three-point stripe.

Ferris State, which was ranked 19th nationally this past week, closed the weekend trip with a 1-1 overall record.

The Bulldogs will visit Walsh on Monday, Dec. 19, for a 1 p.m. (ET) non-league regional matchup in their final game prior to the holiday break.
