Bulldog Tennis Teams Fall At Nationally Top-Five Ranked Saint Leo

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's tennis squads both returned to competition on Thursday (March 7) in Florida, falling to nationally top-five ranked Saint Leo squads by identical 6-1 scores.

Saint Leo's men's team was ranked third in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II National Rankings while the women came in fourth in the country.

In the men's contest, the Bulldogs dropped the doubles point and Saint Leo came away with wins in five of the six singles positions. The Bulldogs got a win from Esunge Ndumbe at two singles by a 6-4, 7-5 score.

Meanwhile, on the women's side, Saint Leo scored the initial point by winning the three doubles flights and came back to garner wins at the top five flights in the singles lineup. FSU's lone winner was Aimee Reynoso Cupido by a 6-2, 6-7, 10-6 score at the sixth spot.

Both Ferris State teams will conclude the trip to Florida by facing Rockhurst (Mo.) in neutral site regional action on Saturday (March 9) starting at 12 p.m. (ET) in Orlando.
