Bulldog Volleyball Cruises Past SVSU In GLIAC Home Contest For Ninth-Straight Win

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nation's 20th-ranked Ferris State University women's volleyball squad made quick work of visiting Saginaw Valley State on Saturday (Oct. 7), scoring a 3-0 sweep in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

FSU registered a 25-10, 25-12, 25-11 win over the Cardinals, claiming its ninth-straight win overall.

With the triumph, the Bulldogs stayed unbeaten in the GLIAC, improving to 14-3 overall and 9-0 in league play.

Olivia Henneman-Dallape paced the Bulldogs with 12 kills in the contest while both Chelsie Freeman and Claire Nowicki chipped in five each. Setter Kaylee Maat netted 25 assists and Leah Bylut finished with 16 digs while Nowicki posted 10 in the win.

Ferris State also got four service aces from Hannah Tecumseh.

The Bulldogs posted a .258 attack percentage and netted 53 digs to go with 10 block assists and nine aces. FSU also held SVSU to a -.139 attack figure as the Cardinals had only 11 kills compared to 25 attack errors. The Cardinals finished with 38 digs and eight block assists to go with a single service ace.

The Bulldogs will take part in the Midwest Region Crossover slated to be held Oct. 13-14 in Hammond, Ind. Official match times and pairings will be announced soon.
