Big Rapids, Mich. - A big second half lifted the Ferris State University women's basketball squad to a 72-54 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) road win at Davenport on Thursday (Feb. 23) night.

The Bulldogs outscored the Panthers by a 43-25 count over the final 20 minutes of play to break a halftime deadlock, grabbing the win inside the DU Student Center.

In the win, senior guard Mallory McCartney dished out six assists, becoming FSU's all-time career assists leader. She topped the previous school mark set by Carrie Roys in the late 1990's. McCartney has now totaled more than 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in her FSU career.

The Bulldogs got a game-high 23 points and eight rebounds from senior center Chloe Idoni in the win. FSU freshman Elle Irwin added 15 points while sophomore Kenzie Bowers notched a double-double performance with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Mia Riley added 10 points off the bench in the win.

Ferris State shot 41.9% from the floor, but converted 50% of its second half field goal tries overall. The Bulldogs also hit on 11-of-33 (33.3%) three's for the night with four different players making at least two three's each, including Irwin with a team-high three. FSU went nine-of-12 (75%) at the free throw stripe.

Defensively, the Bulldogs limited DU to only 42.1% shooting and the Panthers finished three-of-12 (25%) from long range and three-of-four (75%) at the line.

The Bulldogs finished the game by forcing 19 turnovers, which led to 11 steals, including four from Bowers. FSU outscored Davenport 26-11 in points off turnovers and 14-9 on the break.

For Davenport, four players reached double-digits with Lillee Gustafson earning a team-high 14 points in the setback.

Ferris State moved to 16-10 overall with the win and 9-8 in GLIAC play. FSU is currently in sixth place in the league standings and only one game behind Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley State entering the final game of the regular-season.

The Bulldogs will visit rival Grand Valley State on Saturday (Feb. 25) for a 1 p.m. (ET) league tipoff in Allendale.
