Ferris State Notches Third-Straight Win With Dominating Men's Tennis Performance

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad opened weekend action by storming to a 7-0 shutout victory over Hope College on Saturday (Feb. 27) afternoon in West Michigan.

The Bulldogs improved to 3-2 overall and remains unbeaten on the year against non-NCAA Division I competition.

The victory was the third-straight of the year for the Bulldogs and the first shutout triumph for FSU this campaign.

"I'd like to give credit today to Volunteer assistant coach Martin Birchmeier," said FSU head coach Mark Doren. "This was our first match where the men and women played at the same time and he was awesome today as I moved back and forth. It is great to have someone like him to rely on."

The Bulldogs swept the doubles round with all three flights claimed in convincing fashion. In singles play, FSU won all six spots in straight-sets.

Ferris State will hit the court again on Sunday (Feb. 28) as FSU visits Hillsdale for a regional tilt starting at 4:30 p.m. (ET) in Hillsdale, Mich.
