Bulldog Softball Closes Out Lewis Dome Invite With Victory

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Bulldogs closed out the Lewis Dome Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 25) with a 3-1 triumph over Walsh in regional action in Rosemont, Ill.

The Bulldogs tallied three runs in the sixth inning to rally from a 1-0 deficit en route to the win.

Walsh jumped in front early with a run in the bottom of the first before FSU finally got on the board in the sixth. Overall, the Cavaliers had four hits compared to three for the Bulldogs.

Ferris State's Abby Meyer tripled for FSU and scored once while the Bulldogs also got hits from center fielder Kylie Winkels along with second baseman Josie Prince. FSU's Jadyn Joseph along with Brooklyn Verbeek, Natalie Teague and Prince all drove in runs.

FSU's Aryn Gallacher tossed three innings of action and allowed only a single earned run on two hits with two strikeouts and a walk. Catherine O'Donohue came on to pitch four innings, giving up no runs on two hits with two K's and a walk.

The Bulldogs will next head to Florida for The Spring Games, which are set for March 5-11 near Orlando. FSU will face Winona State (Minn.) and Upper Iowa on Sunday, March 5, to open the event at 11 a.m. (ET) and 1:30 p.m. (ET), respectively.
