Ferris State's 11-Game Unbeaten Streak Snapped At Saginaw Valley

University Center, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer team had their 11-game unbeaten streak ended at Saginaw Valley State Friday (Oct. 28) in a 3-1 regular season ending loss in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play. 

Ferris State senior Nikki May scored the lone Bulldog tally in the contest, while the Bulldogs out-shot the Cardinals 17-12 on the day.

Saginaw Valley opened the scoring on Sarah Fredrick's goal at 8:32 for an early 1-0 lead. Ferris State evened the score at 1-1 when May scored at 26:01, good for her third goal of the campaign.

Just over a minute later, Saginaw Valley's Olivia Cogo broke the tie and scored the eventual game winner at 27:50 to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead.

In the final minute of the opening half, Jessie Falloon scored with 39 seconds to play before the break to give SVSU a 3-1 lead.

Ferris State had a 7-6 shots on goal advantage in the contest, while Kennedi Pugh picked up her first win of the year in goal for the Cardinals on six stops. FSU sophomore Darya Mosallei took just her second loss of the year, falling to 4-2-5, making two stops and allowing three goals. Mosallaei was relieved in goal at the 52:39 mark by sophomore Lauren Kubacki who made one save in 37:21 of action.

The Bulldogs return home, having already clinched a GLIAC Quarterfinal Home Match, where they will play Tuesday (Nov. 1) at 1:00 PM ET at the Bulldog Soccer Field.
