GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Ashland got off to a flying start, as the first five batters of the game reached base on three hits, a walk and a hit batter. That allowed the Eagles to take a 3-0 lead after the first inning.
  • Northwood began their comeback in the top of the second thanks to an Ashland error that plated Matt Magno to make the score 3-1.
  • Magno then cut the lead to 3-2 with an RBI single in the top of the third.
  • Carson Longstreth tied the game in the top of the fourth on a run-scoring double to make the score 3-3.
  • NU took the lead in the top of the fourth thanks to a sacrifice fly from Myles Beale, making the score 4-3.
  • Ashland responded with an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth to tie the score 4-4.
  • The Timberwolves came in the late innings with the key runs to earn the win. NU went back on top in the top of the eighth on an Evan Wiegand pinch-hit RBI single.
  • Rhett Evans then made it a two-run Northwood league with a two-out RBI single that made the score 6-4.
