Baseball Sweeps Tiffin To Finish Opening Weekend

RECAP: Northwood baseball bounced back with a pair of wins against Tiffin Sunday afternoon (February 13), earning a 4-2 comeback win in game one and a 14-4 victory in game two.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (SEVEN INNINGS)
- Tiffin got a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth to go up 2-0.
- In the final inning, Northwood rallied for a comeback victory. NU got on the board first on an error to make the score 2-1.
- The Timberwolves then tied the score on an RBI fielder's choice from Ben Clark to tie the game.
- Myles Beale then came through with the biggest hit of the game, connecting on a two-run homer to make the score 4-2.
- Jake Jekielek recorded the final six outs to earn the Timberwolves' first win of the season.

- Northwood set the tone for game two right away, scoring three runs without a hit. NU drew five walks, two which came with the bases loaded. NU's final run came in on a balk, making the score 3-0 after half an inning.
- Tiffin got one back in the bottom of the first to make the score 3-1.
- The Timberwolves plated two in the second, scoring on a Beale double and a Blake Salamon RBI fielder's choice.
- Beale continued his big day with a two-run homer to get the lead to 7-1.
- Northwood broke the game open in the fourth, starting with a Rhett Evans RBI single.
- Khale Showers then made it 9-1 with an RBI single, followed by a Alex Jarboe run-scoring double.
- Beale drew a bases-loaded walk to get the score to 11-1.
- Jeffers finished out the sixth-run fourth with a two-run single to get the lead to 13-1.
- Tiffin plated single runs in the fourth and the fifth to make the score 13-3.
- NU's final run of the day came on a Salamon run-scoring double in the top of the sixth.
