Dragons fall in narrow 2-1 game to Davenport

Tiffin University (2-3) got strong pitching but could not come up with a key hit, falling to Davenport 2-1 at the Music City Invitational.

Isabella St. Peter had one of her strongest outings of the year thus far, allowing just 4 hits over 6 innings for 2 earned runs.

The Dragons, though, managed just three hits total, with Maddie Woods getting two of them with a triple.

Davenport scored its two runs in the first inning but was then shut down the rest of the way.

In the third, Taylor Whalen laid down a bunt single and came home on Woods''s triple. With Woods on third and no one out, the Dragons were unable to get her home.

TU had another chance in the fifth inning. Woods singled, stole second, and went to third on a wild pitch with two outs but was again stranded at third.
