INSIDE THE GAME

  • Saginaw Valley drove early in the game, but an Obie Ricumstrict interception in the endzone for Northwood kept the game scoreless.
  • The game was still 0-0 late in the opening quarter when Saginaw Valley got on the board. The Cardinals capped a 57-yard drive with a touchdown for a 7-0 lead.
  • An SVSU field goal were the only points in the second quarter, sending the game to the break with the score 10-0. The NU offense put up just 38 total yards in the opening 30 minutes of play.
  • Saginaw Valley put together a pair of drives in the third quarter that resulted in touchdowns, pushing their advantage to 24-0.
  • Northwood got on the board early in the fourth. The Timberwolves went 69 yards in 10 plays, capped by a Jacob Barlage four-yard touchdown pass to Danny Krajewski. Barlage found Mark Tocco for the two point conversion to make the score 24-8.
  • SVSU finished the scoring with a touchdown with 7:54 remaining to make the final 31-8.
