Tiffin University (8-13) scored runs late to secure a split with Grand Valley State, beating the Lakers 2-1 after falling 5-0.

A scoreless game ended in the 5th inning, as Madie Legg drilled a solo shot to left field to put TU ahead 1-0. Singles by Caitlin Wilson and Michelle Rodkey were followed by a Taylor Whalen single to left field, which the fielder bobbled to allow another run to score as TU went ahead 2-0.

TU's Claire Feldkamp cruised into the seventh inning, but two errors let a GVSU run cross the plate and left the bases loaded with two outs. A hard grounder back to Feldkamp ended the threat, however.

Feldkamp picked up the win, going 7 innings and allowing just 5 hits and no earned runs with 4 strikeouts.

In the opener, Isabella St. Peter took the loss, going 5.1 innings and allowing 2 earned runs. The Dragons managed just one hit to Grand Valley's 13 as the Lakers broke open the game with runs in the fifth inning.
