There was little charity at the stripe tonight, as a 14 of 26 performance from the free throw line was costly in Tiffin's 70-68 loss to the Wayne State Warriors.

From the opening tip, Tiffin was the aggressor, scoring the first six points of the game to force a Warrior timeout. Wayne State then used a 15-1 run to take an eight point lead at the 13:07 mark of the 1st half. Tiffin made a run of their own, surging back with a 10-4 scamper to pull within two points at 19-17. Wayne State continued to lead as the 1st half was coming to a close, but Tiffin stayed within striking distance, and with a little over a minute left tied the game at 33-33.

At the break, Tiffin was led in scoring by Alex Brown with eight points on 3 of 4 shooting. The Warriors were strong on the boards, holding an 18-14 rebounding advantage and a 10-0 lead in second chance points.

For the opening six and a half minutes of the 2nd half, neither team could separate from the other. Then Wayne State used a quick 5-0 run to lead 49-42 with 11:45 remaining. The Warriors maintained their lead, and began to play add on, storming ahead to a nine point lead. Tiffin had their opportunities to slow the Warriors roll, but an 11 for 20 performance from the free throw line in the 2nd half was tough to overcome. Tiffin, trailing 69-60 with 01:43 left in the game, used an 8-0 run to make it a 69-68 game with six seconds left. Wayne State hit a free throw to make it 70-68, and Tiffin's last chance heave fell short of the mark, dropping the Dragons 70-68.

For the game, Tiffin hit only 14 of 26 free throws, and were held to an 0 of 5 performance from beyond the arc in the 2nd half. Alex Brown led Tiffin in the scoring column with 18 points. Austin Adams and Juwan Johnson added 11 points, and Brandon Wilkins came off the bench to score 10 points. Khaleal McCormick led the Dragons in rebounding with eight, and Mohammed Rage blocked a season high six shots.

The loss drops the Dragons to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in GLIAC play.
