Oilers Win on Senior Day

It was Senior Day on Friday, November 4, for The University of Findlay volleyball team, as they hosted Walsh University.  The Oilers came away with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 26-24) victory over the Cavaliers to improve their record to 19-7 on the season and to 12-3 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

Three Oilers reached the double digit kill plateau to lead Findlay passed the Cavaliers.  Senior Hannah Tong pounded out 12 kills to lead the attack.  Junior Nickyla Garverick hammered 11 kills and recorded a team high four blocks.  Sophomore Amanda Winner contributed with 10 kills, three aces, and five digs.

Sophomore Hailee Olson ended the match with 33 assists and freshman Molly Hammersmith also showed off her serving skills with three aces.

Sophomore Kara Scherger led the back end of the Findlay defense with a team high eight digs.

The Oilers return back in action on Tuesday, November 8 for their final home match of the regular season.  Findlay hosts Cedarville University with a scheduled start of 7:00 p.m.
