Women's Basketball Earns 76-69 Overtime Win At Lake Superior State

RECAP: Women's Basketball overcomes a tough shooting night to earn a 76-69 overtime win over Lake Superior State Saturday night (November 11).
GAME STORY
- The opening quarter saw both teams struggle offensively. LSSU led 10-9 after one quarter. NU was 4-20 from the floor (20.0 percent) while Lake State was 3-12 (25.0 percent).
- Both teams picked it up in the second quarter. Each team scored 20 points in the quarter, which gave LSSU a 30-29 lead at the break.
- The opening half was evenly played – the largest lead for both teams was just three points.
- The game remained scored close in the third quarter. Both teams put up 16 points, sending the game to the fourth with LSSU leading 46-45.
- Lake Superior State got the lead up to five early in the fourth quarter at 52-47 when the Timberwolves score six straight to take a 53-52 lead.
- LSSU led by three with less than a minute to go, only to see the Timberwolves score the final three points of the game to send the game to overtime at 59-59.
- The Timberwolves put together their best offensive stretch of the game in overtime, shooting 57.1 percent from the floor (4-7) while going 2-4 from 3-point range and 7-8 from the foul line.
- Northwood's seven point lead at the end of the game matched their biggest of the game.
