Findlay, OH – The University of Findlay women's basketball team avenged a 69-66 loss from earlier this season with a 71-65 victory over the Dragons of Tiffin University. The Feb. 6 victory gives the Oilers a 14-9 record overall and a 9-8 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play. The win gives Findlay the season split with Tiffin.
Nearly collecting a double-double was sophomore Haley Horstman who scored 17 points and tied a career high with eight rebounds. She also dished out four assists in the game.
Tied for the team-high in scoring was senior Margaret Wuebker, who finished with 17 points, shot 7-for-12 in the contest. She also had four rebounds.
Sophomore Lynsey Englebrecht was hot from deep as she drilled 3-of-4 from behind the arc. She finished with nine points.
As a team, Findlay was able to knock down 24-of-51 for 47.1%, including 5-of-11 from behind the arc.
The Oilers will be back in action on Thursday, Feb. 11 when they travel to Ashland University to take on the Eagles. That game will begin at 5:30 p.m.
