Callie Murphy joined the GLIAC staff as the Digital Content Intern in July, 2018, while going on her second year working in the athletic media relations office at Saginaw Valley State University.

Previous to SVSU, Murphy is a graduate of the University of West Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Marketing Communications, with an emphasis in Sports Media. Also, she was apart of the varsity volleyball team from 2013-16, where she was a five-time athlete of the week honoree, AVCA All-Academic Team member, D2 Athletic Directors Association Award winner, FireSeeds Fall All-Academic Team member and Gulf South Conference Honor Roll honoree. 

Murphy was also a member of five honor socieites, recieved the honor of being crowned UWA's homecoming queen in 2016 and earned the University Scholar Award for the IMC program in 2017. 

While attending UWA, Murphy was the Coordinator of Athletic Digital Media, producing graphics, articles and videos for multiple sports during her senior year. She was the lead anchor/sports reporter for the Universities Tiger Pause Newscast for all four years of attendance as well, earning multiple awards at the Southeast Journalism Conference from 2014-2017. 

Also, Murphy was one of six students that helped in creating the first ever UWA Sports Magazine: Zone, which won first place in the Best of the South Awards for Best College Sports Magazine, defeating multiple Division I and II schools in 2017. On the side, Murphy also freelanced for Swish Appeal, covering Divison I Basketball games in the south, as well as Michigan and Michigan State contests. 

Murphy spent a semester interning with Jasckson Television Station in Jackson, Michigan, where she was an on-air host for her own segement, City Talk, and created logos for TV shows aired on JTV. 

Murphy has coached volleyball at a variety of national and regional levels for the past five years. She is currently the head coach of the Team Detroit 15-White, a master trainer and the setting coordinator for the entire club.
