2015-16 Northern Michigan Men's Basketball Preview

The Northern Michigan men’s basketball team is coming off of a rebuilding season. The Wildcats posted a 9-19 (7-15 GLIAC) record, highlighted by upset wins over No. 17 Ferris State and rival Michigan Tech. Both wins came late in the season and will give Northern Michigan momentum going into the 2015-16 season.  

Jordan Perez led the Wildcats in scoring last season with 11.6 points per game while Terry Nash led the team in assists, averaging 4.1 per game.  Overall, Northern Michigan averaged 61.5 points per game.

Head coach Bill Sall brings in a talented group of freshmen this season, highlighted by Isaiah Johnson. The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 15. 9 points per game and was the 23rd ranked player in Wisconsin’s class of 2015. Naba Echols will also be expected to contribute right away.

Northern Michigan opens the 2015-16 season Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. with an exhibition game against Finlandia. The game will be played at Negaunee Lakeview Memorial Gymnasium.
