#7 GLIAC SOUTH - MEN'S BASKETBALL PRESEASON COACHES POLL
TIFFIN DRAGONS (8-21 ALL, 4-18 GLIAC)

2015-16 Tiffin Men's Basketball Preview

The Dragons suffered many setbacks in 2014-15, with injuries to Andy Bachman, Khaleal McCormick, and Chrisean Marsden. These three combined, averaged 33.3 points per contest and 15.6 rebounds. Tiffin averaged only 63.8 points per game last season, and shot 43% from the field. With last year in the books and a new season on the horizon, the Dragons will have to replace another key contributor. Ashton Khan has moved on after graduating from TU, and is now in England playing professionally. Khan was 2nd on the team in scoring with 12.9 points per contest.

The 2015-16 Dragons will feature a roster that has six seniors and plenty of experience. Tiffin’s go to scorer will be Khaleal McCormick, averaging 16 points or more for the previous two seasons. McCormick has 885 points in his career, and will look to become the 30th 1,000-point scorer in Dragon history. Another Dragon to keep an eye on will be Andy Bachman. Andy, before suffering an injury, was averaging 9.9 point per game, 4.8 rebounds, and was shooting 35% from three. What can’t be calculated is his effort on the defensive end where he is matched-up with the opponent’s best offensive player. Alex Brown returns this season, as the sophomore guard looks to improve upon his 10.2 points per game average, and will see time at the shooting and point guard positions. The Dragons return a big front line, with Korab Imami (6’10”), Mohamed Rage (7’0”), Chrisean Marsden (6’7”), and Jonathan Sutherlin at (6’8”).

The Dragons open the season on November 14, against Alderson-Broaddus College in Detroit, Michigan for the G-MAC vs. GLIAC Challenge. Tiffin’s first home contest will be against Lambton College on November 23, and they will open up GLIAC play on the road, traveling to Hillsdale on December 3, for an 8:00 p.m. tip-off.
