Wayne State’s Hanes Named 2010 Daktronics D-II Softball First-Team All-American

ROLLA, Mo. - Wayne State University senior pitcher Casey Hanes (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman) has been named to the 2010 Daktronics, Inc., All-America softball team.  A total of five GLIAC softball players earned recognition on the Daktronics All-America teams.

Three GLIAC players were named to the Daktronics All-America second team, including Hanes' WSU teammate, senior outfielder Alison Allen (Redford, Mich./Farmington Hills Mercy). A pair of Ashland players, sophomore pitcher Emlyn Knerem (Brunswick, Ohio) and junior designated player Logan Hursey (Zanesville, Ohio/John Glenn), also earned All-America accolades.

Hillsdale College sophomore third baseman Jessica Guertin (Lancaster, Calif./Desert Christian) was named to the All-America thrid team.

The teams are sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
