#3 Grand Valley State Advances to Regional Championship With 1-0 Win Over Bellarmine

Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State recorded one goal in the second half and recorded its 13th shutout in a 1-0 win over Bellarmine on Sunday (Nov. 15) afternoon. The No. 3 Lakers advanced to the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship for the fifth consecutive season and will play Friday Nov. 20 against Northern Kentucky.

The Grand Valley State defense held the Knights to only four shots, including two shots on goal the entire game. The Lakers, meanwhile, launched 25 shots and put 11 of them on frame. Grand Valley State notched the lone goal at the 84:33 mark when senior defender Natalja Stanski knocked in a penalty kick after a Bellarmine foul. Stanski has recorded two goals this season, which both have been off of penalty kicks.

Goalkeeper Chelsea Parise picked up her 10th shutout victory and recorded two saves in the match. Grand Valley State advances their record to 19-0-3, while Bellarmine falls to 14-4-1.
