Northwood Men's Soccer Preview | Roster | Schedule

Heading into his 15th season as the head coach of the Northwood University men’s soccer team, Doug Carter looks to continue his success into the 2015 season.

The 2014 campaign was one of the most memorable in school history, as the Timberwolves claimed the first championship of any kind in program history. NU won the GLIAC Tournament with a 1-0 victory over rival Saginaw Valley State. Northwood earned the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Tournament and hosted a game in the event for the first time. Northwood registered a 14-4-1 overall record and finished the year ranked No. 25 nationally, marking the first time the team ended the year ranked.

The Timberwolves will look to build on the momentum from last season with plenty of talent coming back. With a pair of All-Americans in Michael Ankoviak (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Walled Lake Northern) and goalkeeper Johannes Sterobo (Odense, Denmark / Tornbjerg) returning in the back, the Timberwolves will also look to All-Region selection Keaton Levock (Clinton Twp., Mich. / Chippewa Valley (Niagara) in the midfield to control tempo of play. Northwood out-scored their opponents 39-29 with 21 assists last season, while registering nine shutouts.
