ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - The Northwood University men's tennis team dropped a 5-1 contest to Columbus State in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament Thursday afternoon (May 13).
The Timberwolves' season comes to an end with a 16-5 record.
Northwood trailed 2-1 after doubles, earning a victory at the number one position thanks to Peter Kazianschuetz and Frederic Schoelzel. Their 8-4 victory came over the team of Frank Suarez and Chrstopher Noblet, who are ranked No. 10 nationally.
Columbus State earned three straight-set victories in singles to round out the match. Schoelzel was up a set at No. 2 singles for the Timberwolves when the match ended.
