ROLLA, Mo. - Wayne State University junior pitcher Casey Hanes (Richmond, Va.) has been selected to the 2009 Daktronics Softball All-America Second Team in voting by the nation's Division II sports information directors.

Hanes is currently third in the nation in ERA (0.79), while ranking tied-for-fifth in victories (30). She pitched the second-most innings (274.0) of anyone ranked in the top 34 in ERA.

The GLIAC "Pitcher of the Year," Hanes set the WSU single-season mark with 30 wins, while her 283 strikeouts were the second-highest in school history.

This marks the third straight year a WSU pitcher has earned All-America honors from either Daktronics or the NFCA.

Saginaw Valley State University senior outfeilder Marsha Beaubien (Aplena, Mich.), the 2009 GLIAC Softball "Player of the Year," earned honorable mention accolades along with Ashland University sophomore utility player Logan Hursey (Zanesville, Ohio/John Glenn).
