2015-16 Ohio Dominican Women's Basketball Preview

Ohio Dominican’s women’s basketball team enters the 2015-16 with plenty of experience in the post, but must replace the production of all-conference guard Kacee Hockenberry, who graduated as ODU’s sixth all-time leading scorer with 1,425 points.

Senior forward Melissa Scherpenberg returns after averaging 11.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game last year. She’s averaging a double-double for her career, with 10.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. Junior forward Madi Rittinger averaged 10.3 points per game, along with 6.3 boards per game, and junior forward Jackie Oestreich scored 6.1 points with 3.8 rebounds per game last year.

Junior guard Lauren Bates averaged 7.5 points per contest last year and is one of the best wing defenders in the conference. She’s joined in the backcourt by juniors Tori Beth Leader (5.5 ppg) and Kayla Cook (42.1 percent from three point range) and sophomores Darian Rose (4.1 ppg) and Megan Eyre (93.8 percent free throw shooter), while senior Rachael Torey returns after missing all of last season with injury.
