Timberwolves drop 5-3 contest to No. 16 Hawaii Pacific

The No. 18 Northwood University women's tennis team saw its 2008 season come to an end with a 5-3 loss to No. 16 Hawaii Pacific in the Round of 16 of the Division II Women's Tennis Tournament.

The Timberwolves' season comes to an end with an 18-4 record. Hawaii Pacific stands at 22-7 heading into the Round of Eight.

Northwood took a 2-1 lead after doubles, thanks to winning at the top-two positions. Hawaii Pacific earned the first win at singles to even the score 2-2, but Northwood came right back when Darina Berkova earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 1 position to give NU the lead 3-2. That would be the Timberwolves final victory, however, as Hawaii Pacific won at the bottom four singles positions to claim the win.
