FSU's Oraegbu selected GLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced that Ferris State sophomore guard Solomon Oraegbu has been honored as GLIAC Player of the Week following week 14 of the 2022-23 men's basketball season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Solomon Oraegbu, Ferris State

Ferris State University sophomore guard Solomon Oraegbu tallied a personal career-high and game-best 38 points on Saturday (Feb. 18) as the Bulldogs knocked off league rival Lake Superior State 72-58 in Sault Ste. Marie to hold onto a share of first place in the GLIAC. In FSU's lone action of the week, Oraegbu helped FSU avenge an earlier loss to the Lakers, scoring 38 points on 15-of-25 (60%) shooting in the triumph. His play was critical as FSU held a three-point halftime lead over the Lakers, who entered the contest only one game back in the league race. Oraegbu went three-of-four (75%) from three-point range and five-of-five (100%) at the free throw line while adding five rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in 33 minutes of work. With the win, FSU improved to 21-6 overall this year.

HONORABLE MENTION: Kemon Bassett (LSSU), Max Bjorklund (NMU), Pete Calcaterra (MTU), Mikell Cooper (PNW), Tre Garrett (SVSU), Marius Grazulis (GVSU), Kaimen Lennox (WSU), Jamir Simpson (Parkside), Jordan Sterling (DU)
