Sophomore Niklas Karcz (Bottrop, Germany) went 2-0 at No. 1 singles this weekend in the first two GLIAC matches of the season.  Karcz notched a victory over Davenport on Saturday (6-0, 7-5), followed by a win against Purdue Northwest on Sunday (6-3, 6-3), assisting the 25th-ranked Wayne State squad to 7-0 victories in both matches. He and Pierre Renaudi split their No. 2 doubles matches. Karcz improved to 13-6 in singles and 15-2 in doubles.
