GVSU's Rieger and UWP's Hausl garner softball weekly accolades

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly softball awards following Week 2 of the 2020 season. Grand Valley St. junior infielder Taylor Rieger was named Player of the Week, while Parkside senior Allison Hausl was selected Pitcher of the Week.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK  - Taylor Rieger, Grand Valley State

For the second time in as many weeks, a member of the GVSU Lakers was named GLIAC softball player of the week. Senior infielder Taylor Rieger was perfect for the week, reaching the base on all 7 plate appearances while driving in a pair of runs, including the game-tying home run in the sixth inning against No. 12 Saint Anslem. Rieger finished the week with a 1.000 BA, a 1.000 OBP, and a 2.000 SLG. 

 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Allison Hausl, Parkside

Hausl came up huge in both of her starts over the weekend, both of win ended in a Rangers win. Against Maryville, Hausl pitched a complete-game allowing just five hits and one earned run with three strikeouts. In the win over the Lions, she pitched another complete game with only one earned run and tied a career-high with seven strikeouts.
