Wayne State, Grand Valley State Earn NCAA Softball Tournament Bids

NCAA -- A pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) softball programs are NCAA Division II Tournament bound, as released on Monday morning (May 2).

Wayne State owns the three seed in the Midwest Region following a 46-7 overall record and its fifth consecutive GLIAC Tournament title. The Warriors will be making its 21st NCAA Tournament appearance this Thursday in St. Louis.

Grand Valley State earned the fourth seed in the Midwest Region after posting a 37-10 record and will travel to Indianapolis, Ind. to face the Screaming Eagles of Southern Indiana. The Lakers are making their 14th overall appearance in the NCAA postseason and own a 36-27 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament.

The Midwest Region is broken into a pair of four-team sub-regional tournaments, with the winners of each sub-regional meeting in the Midwest Super Regional, a best-of-three series with that winner advancing to the NCAA Division II College World Series in Denver, Colo.
