Ferris State's Sell Earns GLIAC Tennis Accolades

BAY CITY, Mich. -- Ferris State freshman Steward Sell has been named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week after a 4-0 record last week against two previously unbeaten conference foes.

Highlights: Ferris State University's Steward Sell played a key role and went unbeaten over the weekend as the Bulldogs posted two big conference road wins over longtime rival Northwood and Wayne State by identical 7-2 scores. Sell went 2-0 at the number four spot in FSU's singles lineup with back-to-back straight-set triumphs and he also recorded a perfect 2-0 doubles mark while teaming up with Alex Brown at the number three flight in the FSU lineup.

Sell was the only FSU player to go 4-0 in the weekend of action as the Bulldogs recorded two key wins to stay unbeaten atop the GLIAC standings and the upper hand in the league race while eying a second-straight GLIAC reuglar season championship. Both NU and WSU had also been unbeaten heading into the weekend of competition.
