GLIAC Volleyball Players of the Week - Week 5

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced weekly volleyball awards following the third week of conference play. Saginaw Valley State junior middle hitter Kaylee Schmitt captured GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors, while Ashland junior outside hitter Alli Cudworth collected GLIAC South Division Player of the Week accolades for the second straight week.

North Division

Saginaw Valley State Middle Hitter Jr.

Highlights: Schmitt had a solid week in leading the Cardinals to a 3-0 record this past week. Schmitt posted a .423 hitting percentage, racking up 38 kills for an average of 3.80 kills/set in victories over Wayne State, Walsh and Malone. She added seven blocks defensively, averaging 0.70 blocks/set to earn her second GLIAC North Player of the Week honor this season. SVSU is off to a program-best 13-2 record through 15 matches.

South Division
Alli Cudworth Ashland Outside Hitter Jr.

Highlights: Cudworth recorded 5.00 kills/set and a .406 hitting percentage for the Eagles who were perfect in three home matches last week. Cudworth amassed 23 kills and 14 digs against Northwood, eight service aces against Lake Superior State. This marks the third time this season Cudworth has earned GLIAC South Player of the Week accolades.
