Nine GLIAC Student-Athletes Earn Capital One Academic All-America At-Large Selections

AUSTIN, Texas - Nine Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) student-athletes earned the distinguished honor of being selected to 2014-15 Capital One Division II Academic All-America® At-Large teams. Wayne State landed four swimmers on the prestigious recognition list.

The Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Men’s At-Large program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo and wrestling. The Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Women’s At-Large program includes the sports of bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis and water polo.

(2) - Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Second Team selection in 2013-14

Twenty eight members of the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Men’s At-Large teams have at least a 3.90 G.P.A., including six student-athletes who maintain a perfect 4.00 G.P.A. The 15 members of the first team have an average G.P.A. of 3.93. 

Twenty nine members of the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Women’s At-Large teams have at least a 3.90 G.P.A., including 11 student-athletes who maintain a perfect 4.00 G.P.A. The 15 members of the first team have an average G.P.A. of 3.93. 

The Capital One Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2014-15 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.
