Grand Valley State Leads #GLIACmgolf Championship after Day One in Kentucky

GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The first round of the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference featured low scoring as GLIAC golfers took advantage of soft conditions at Cherry Blossom Golf Club on Friday in Kentucky. After one day of competition, Grand Valley State leads the 15-team, 74-player field after a brilliant round of 5-under par 283. The Lakers' Domenic Mancinelli posted a 2-under round of 70, while three of his teammates (Jack Rider, Alex Nannetti, Tyler Polulak) each carded one-under 71s.

Day One Notes:

  • Three teams (Grand Valley St., Malone, Walsh) finished under par
  • 15 individuals completed their first round under par, including 23 of par or better
