  • GVSU Teams Finish In Top-Five at 2008 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships

    Bay City, Mich. -- The NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships were held Saturday, Nov. 22, in Slippery Rock, Pa. Grand Valley State finished in second place in the women's 6K race, while Wayne State and Ferris State finished in 12th and positions, respectively. Grand Valley also placed fifth in the men's 10K race. Wayne State's men matched the women's team with an identical 12th place finish, while Ashland's men finished in the 21st position overall. Hillsdale's Tim Jagielski, who competed in the event as an individual, earned All-American honors with a finish.
  • NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship Set for Saturday, Nov. 22

    Bay City, Mich.--The NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, in Slippery Rock, Pa. The men's 10K race will begin at noon. Competing for the GLIAC will be Grand Valley State, Wayne State and Ashland. Hillsdale freshman, Tim Jagielski (Camden, Mich./Waldron) will compete as an individual. The women's 6K race will begin at 1:15 pm. Grand Valley State, Wayne State and Ferris State will compete for the GLIAC.

    Bay City, Mich.--The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's and women's cross country teams will participate in the 2008 NCAA Division II Midwest Region Cross Country Championships being held at the Katke Golf Course, Big Rapids, Mich. The regionals will be hosted by Ferris State on Saturday, November 8, 2008 and will begin with the men’s 10K race at 11 am and the women’s 6K race will begin at 11:45am.

  • GVSU Men Capture 2007 GLIAC Cross Country Championship

    Erie, Pa. - Grand Valley State won its sixth straight Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship Saturday afternoon in Erie, Pa. with a team score of 19, while GVSU senior Nate Peck won his third straight GLIAC individual crown. The Lakers easily outdistanced Wayne State by 62 points in the team race, while Peck won the individual race by 20 seconds and bettered his 2006 winning time by nearly one minute. GVSU will now prepare for the 2007 NCAA DII Great Lakes Regional Championship in two weeks.
