ALLENDALE, Mich. -- The 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place this weekend (Feb 24 & 25) on the campus of Grand Valley State University inside the Kelly Family Sports Center. The competition will feature nearly 500 student-athletes from 10 women's teams and eight men's programs in one of the most highly anticipated NCAA Division II meets throughout the country.

The GLIAC boasts a strong field led by the No. 1-ranked teams in both men's (Tiffin) and women's (Grand Valley State) action revealed by the latest USTFCCCA Indoor Track & Field Rankings. The defending GLIAC Indoor champion Tiffin Dragons are roaring once again in men's competition as TU sets its sights on another league crown as well as a shot at three consecutive indoor national championships.

The Grand Valley State Lakers own the top spot on the women's side and also the No. 4 position in the men's rankings. GVSU is guided by head coach Jerry Baltes whose women have earned 18 straight indoor conference championships, while the men have captured seven of the last eight league titles, including 16 in the last 18 years dating back to the year 2000 (Ashland 2009). The Ashland Eagle men also enter GLIACs rated No. 5 in the country.
