KENOSHA, Wis. -- Parkside Athletics will launch a women's golf program beginning in 2023-24, Director of Athletics Andrew Gavin announced. Parkside is expected to identify a Director of Golf in the coming weeks.

"We're thrilled to be officially adding a women's golf program to compete for Parkside Athletics," Gavin said. "As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Title IX, we're excited to add a program that will allow more opportunities for female student-athletes to compete for championships."

The Parkside women's golf program will be the department's 16th program competing at the NCAA Division II level. The Rangers will be the ninth institution in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference sponsoring a women's golf program, and will compete in the 2024 GLIAC Championships.

"Our men's golf student-athletes are incredible young men that are ready to take the next step on and off the course," Gavin said. "We're looking forward to building on their success with a new leader for our program."

Parkside men's golf is coming off its most successful season in recent history, winning two tournaments. The Rangers won two tournaments in 2021-22, including the MSOE Invitational (Oct. 3-4, 2021) and The Klash in Kentucky (March 26-27, 2022). In its final regular season tournament, Parkside registered a 3-under 285, the program's best score since 2012. The Rangers return nine players from this year's squad.

The Mark Olsen Indoor Golf Center was officially dedicated in February 2022 as a new state-of-the-art practice facility. The Olsen Center was a 100 percent donor-funded and includes two simulators, a putting green, netting, and additional practice tools.
