GVSU's Chipman wins playoff to take GLIAC medalist honors

AUGUSTA, Mich. - Grand Valley State's Katie Chipman shot a 75-70--145 and edged teammate Maria Sol Pose in a one-hole playoff to take medalist honors at the 2019 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships held Friday and Saturday at Stonehedge Golf Course. The top five individuals in addition to Pose (75-70--145) were GVSU's Mackenzie Blomberg (77-74--151) and Erin Johnson (72-79--151), and Northern Michigan's Caro Els (75-77--152).

Following the NCAA format, the top four teams will compete in head-to-head medal play on Sunday. The semifinal round includes No. 2 Davenport vs. No. 3 Northwood, and No. 1 Grand Valley State vs. No. 4 Wayne State. The winners will play another 18-hole round for the team title.
