GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its sixth weekly awards for the 2021 softball season. Davenport junior Rachel Griffin was named Softball Player of the Week, while Grand Valley St. sophomore Hannah Beatus was selected Softball Pitcher of the Week.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Hannah Beatus, Grand Valley State
Hannah Beatus is the Pitcher of the Week for the seventh week of the 2021 GLIAC softball season. This is her second and the Lakers' third time earning the honor in 2021. Beatus threw a pair of complete game shutouts, allowing just seven combined singles and striking out 19, to go 2-0 on the week to capture the award. She threw seven strong innings on Wednesday on the road at Ferris State, allowing five hits – all of them singles including three on the infield – and a pair of walks while striking out nine. She then carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning on Saturday against Northwood before a pair of bloop singles in the inning. She would walk four while striking out 10 in the win to improve to 9-0 in GLIAC play.
