WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK -  Nicole Sreenan, Grand Valley St.

After breaking the GVSU 400m record last week (Feb. 8), Nicole Sreenan improved her own best on Friday with a 53.80 finish.  Her first place time moves the GVSU junior to the top of the DII leaderboard for the week of Feb. 10-17.  This is the third time this season that Sreenan has claimed the GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week accolade.

WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Bobbie Goodwin, Grand Valley St.

For the second consecutive week, Bobbie Goodwin defeated her competition in the weight throw with a 21.21m toss at the GVSU Big Meet Friday (Feb. 14).  The reigning National Champion’s top four distances (21.21m, 20.08m. 19.87m, 19.54m) stand as the longest measurements of the week in Division II.  Goodwin now owns five GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week awards as well as two USTFCCCA Athlete of the Week honors (Jan. 28 & Feb. 18).

MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK -  Trevor Bassitt, Ashland

Continuing his dominant junior indoor season, Ashland University’s Trevor Bassitt landed his fifth Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week award of 2019-20, and the 10th of his Eagle career, on Tuesday (Feb. 18) afternoon.
On Friday (Feb. 14) at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet, Bassitt finished first in the men’s 400-meter dash in 46.33 seconds – improving upon his previous automatic mark for 2020 NCAA Division II nationals (March 13-14 in Birmingham, Ala.), and setting new meet and venue records in the process. In addition, Bassitt won the men’s 60 hurdles in 7.85 seconds on Friday. Heading into the last week of the regular season, Bassitt is the top-ranked NCAA Division II men’s athlete in the 200-meter dash (20.83 seconds, 0.32 seconds faster than No. 2), 400 dash (46.33 seconds, 0.32 seconds faster than No. 2) and 60 hurdles (7.75 seconds, 0.11 seconds faster than No. 2).
