CSP's Maddie Hentges named CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team

AUSTIN, Texas – Senior Maddie Hentges (New Brighton, Minn.) was named CoSIDA Academic All-America® Second Team, becoming the first Academic All-American® in the history of the women's lacrosse program.
 
Her selection is to the At-Large portion of the CoSIDA awards program, which features student-athletes from lacrosse, swimming & diving, ice hockey, field hockey, golf, tennis, skiing, gymnastics, crew, beach volleyball and water polo. Other sports considered for the women's At-Large team include bowling, fencing and rifle.
 
She is the only GLIAC women's lacrosse student-athlete named to the any of the three CoSIDA Academic-All-America teams, one of three women's lacrosse student-athletes named to the Second Team and one of seven total women's lacrosse student-athletes named to one of the three Academic All-America® teams.
 
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must carry a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average, have reached at least sophomore academic and athletic standing and be in at least their second full year at their institution. The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Division II and III Academic All-America® programs.

  • Also has second-most goals (6) in a game, achieved four times including once as a senior in a win over Colorado Mesa (2/21/20)
